Whip out the sunscreen, pack an extra bottle of water or better yet, just stay inside — the Coachella Valley is about to get even hotter.

The National Weather Service issued a Hazardous Weather Outlook for the Coachella Valley and San Diego County deserts at 8:30 a.m., citing possible temperatures up to 113 degrees today.

The alert says temperatures will reach between 106 to 110 degrees today and tonight, with local temperatures near Ocotillo Wells possibly reaching 113.

On Wednesday, residents of the area will see high temperatures of 105 to 109 degrees.

According to the National Weather Service’s website, the goal of a Hazardous Weather Outlook is “to provide information regarding the potential of significant weather expected during the next 1 to 5 days.”
