The Joshua Tree community hosts it fifth annual gay Pride festival this weekend. With “A Celebration for Progress” as its theme, the festival is expected to showcase vendors, music and art for a variety of ages. Festivities get underway at 11 a.m. and continue until 11 p.m. June 15 at the Art Queen Complex, 61855 Highway 62.
The band Gram Rabbit will take the Fred Drake stage at 8:30 p.m. The band is known for its funky, sexy, seemingly effortless transitions between genres, ranging from disco to country.
