California can be a little dramatic.

Take Friday, for example. In an unexpected ruling that caught everyone by surprise, the 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals gave it’s OK for same sex marriages to resume.

When she heard the news, Attorney General Kamala Harris rushed to San Francisco City Hall, where she married Kris Perry and Sany Stier to cheers.

In Los Angeles, Paul Katami and Jeff Zarrillo found themselves standing in front of the cameras while Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa declared them married at an impromtu ceremony.

Both couples had sued to overturn Proposition 8, which a federal court struck down on constitutional grounds.

Friday was a day of celebration for California’s gays and lesbians who are now free to marry the person of their choice. As a result, many state residents will find themselves at weddings, planned and unplanned.

Are you one of them?

If so, please email us wedding photos. If we get enough, we’ll turn them into a photo gallery.
