Time Warner Cable outage: Where can I watch Dodgers, other games?

August 14th, 2013 | by Kate McGinty | Comments

UPDATE (Monday, Aug. 19):  The Dodgers start a four-game series in Miami today — and it won’t be available to Time Warner Cable customers on KCAL.

Readers have been suggesting listening on the radio or streaming online, but we’re still searching for any Coachella Valley restaurants or sports bars that plan to air the games.

O’Leary’s Pub and Grill (436 S Indian Canyon Drive in Palm Springs) and Burgers & Beer (72733 Dinah Shore Drive in Rancho Mirage) both have the MLB package on DirecTV and plan to air the Dodgers games if they’re not blacked out.

Buffalo Wild Wings in Palm Desert has Time Warner Cable and cannot air the games, the woman who answered the phone (and a self-declared sports fan who shares the disappointment) told The Desert Sun.

ORIGINAL POST: The Dodgers took on the New York Mets on Tuesday — but as the Time Warner and CBS contract dispute continues leaving customers in the dark, sports fans were left frustrated:

Time Warner Cable customers may not be able to see the following games, according to CBS:

Tuesday, Aug. 13 (KCAL 9): Los Angeles Dodgers vs. New York Mets

Saturday, Aug. 17 (KCAL 9):  Los Angeles Dodgers at Philadelphia Phillies

Saturday/Sunday, Aug. 17-18 (CBS 2): PGA Tour Wyndham Championship

So we want to compile a list: Where in the Coachella Valley can sports fans still catch their games?

If you know of a bar, restaurant or other place that will air games — including the one on Saturday — comment below, tweet @kjmcginty or email kate.mcginty@thedesertsun.com.
