Desert Outlook is back.

The monthly LGBT news and culture magazine returns to stands this week (Sept. 5) with a new issue. Our cover story looks at what it’s really like to be LGBT and serving in the military, two years after the repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell. The reality that Marines like cover guy Daniel Amores face may surprise you.

Inside the issue, you’ll find:

An exploration of Hawaii’s Big Island and its unexpectedly gay past

An intriguing helping of Dish Creative Cuisine, Cathedral City’s hottest restaurant

A peek inside one of Palm Springs’ gay-owned, modern dream homes

Your complete guide to Cinema Diverse, the desert’s premier LGBT film festival

Advice and legal resources that every LGBT person who’s even thinking about popping the marriage question should have

Pick up a free copy of the issue at The LGBT Community Center of the Desert, Gay Mart, Hunter’s, both Palm Springs Koffis, World Gym, Palm Springs Fitness, Just Fabulous, Sunshine Cafe in Cathedral City, and many other locations. See the full list of distribution sites at www.mydesert.com/desertoutlook.
