The Desert Water Agency will hold a special meeting Monday to discuss how to fill the seat of Tom Kieley, who finally sent in a resignation letter.
His last day was Sept. 3.
Insider readers will remember that the water board veteran announced his resignation plans during on June 4. But agency officials couldn’t discuss how to fill the vacancy because he never put it in writing.
Kieley, who runs an insurance and financial services firm in Palm Springs, is also a risk management consultant for the Agua Caliente Band of Cahuilla Indians.
The tribe is currently suing the water agency over rights to the Coachella Valley’s underground water source.
Kieley never returned multiple phone messages left by The Desert Sun.
Monday’s meeting starts at 8 a.m. at the agency’s Palm Springs office.
