Yes, the Pizza Hut on North Palm Canyon Drive is closed.

Will it become part of the Arrive hotel orbit? This remains to be seen.

“We are exploring doing additional restaurants around the hotel site on North Palm Canyon, but we have nothing finalized or actively in the work just yet,” said Ezra Callahan a partner with Arrive Hotels and Resorts, which is developing the new Arrive Palm Springs nearly next door to the former Pizza Hut.

Arrive does not own the property, Callahan noted.

The Arrive Palm Springs is the newest hotel project to break ground in the city and evolve from the ground up in about 10 years. It’s not large — only 32 rooms, but with restaurant and a small retail space. However, it’s expected to have a significant cool boutique factor going for it, and is likely to work as another draw for the city’s burgeoning Uptown Design District attracting the kind of young professional millennial travelers Palm Springs has been seeing more of in recent years.

Expanding the Arrive footprint with another related restaurant could be just the catalyst to make that end of North Palm Canyon into its own sort of micro-district.
