In case you couldn’t tell by the plethora of campaign yard signs, Election Day (for some of us) is right around the corner.

ballot box for nov 13 updateHere are a few nuggets to remember about the early voting process:

– The Riverside County Registrar’s Office will have an early voting station at the Palm Springs Public Library this Saturday. It is open from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The library is located at 300 S. Sunrise Way.

– If you decide to vote by mail, don’t forget that your ballot must be in the registrar’s hands before polls close at 8 p.m Nov. 5.

– Voters can request a by-mail ballot through Tuesday.

– But if you haven’t returned your vote-by-mail ballot by next Wednesday, consider the fact that it is called snail mail and drop off the ballot by hand instead.

– Secure drop-off boxes are at the city clerk’s offices in Coachella, Desert Hot Springs or Palm Springs. Ballots can also be returned at any polling place on Election Day.

Countywide, the registrar has issued 133,534 ballots for the Nov. 5 election. By Friday, 20,911 of them were returned.
