Gay vacations are evolving. With the return of same-sex marriage to California, and the right to marry rapidly spreading across other states, gay couples traveling with their children are increasingly a reality in Palm Springs and other vacation destinations. In the November issue of Desert Outlook, local resort owners, parents, and travel industry experts reflect on this recent cultural and business change.

Also in the new issue:
- Holiday gift ideas: we tag along with interior designer Christopher Kennedy on a Coachella Valley shopping spree.
- Think you’re well-versed in Palm Springs’ gay history? Writer Matthew Link takes you on a wild and informative ride you won’t soon forget.
- Meet Carl Taussig. The gay softball player sees life in a whole new light since taking up the sport, though he’s blind in one eye.
- Jackie Collins has got your hookup – literally. Find out what the prolific author has to say about her Grindr experience and upcoming desert gig for the AIDS Assistance Program.
