Not that it takes a whole lot of effort to flip a switch, but the Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will call on the Bionic Woman to be a part of its Christmas tree lighting ceremonies.
Lindsay Wagner, the actress who earned an Emmy in 1977 for her title role in the TV show The Bionic Woman, will serve as celebrity guest in the tramway’s annual tree-lighting ceremony on Dec. 1.
The festivities begin at the Mountain Station at 5:30p.m. with the Palm Springs High School Choir singing a selection of holiday songs. When the tree is lit it can be seen throughout the Coachella Valley.
Wagner, who became a household name for her role as the super-strong woman, went on to star in more than 40 films earning her the title “Queen of TV Movies”. Recently she has had a recurring role on Syfy Channel’s Warehouse 13 and “The Thanksgiving House” a Hallmark. She enjoys mentoring and teaching acting and camera technique.
The tree lighting traditionally begins the holiday season at the tram with choirs December 6, 7, 8, 13, 14, 15, 20 and 21 at 5 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Santa visits on December 21 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Tram admission is $23.95 for adults and $16.95 for children ages 3-12. Discounted Twilight Tickets are available for purchase from 4 p.m. Cost of the Twilight Tickets is $20.95 for adults and seniors and $13.95 for children ages 3-12. Ride ‘n’ Dine tickets are available from 4 p.m. and include Tram admission and dinner at Pines Café, a cafeteria-style restaurant. Cost of the combination ticket is $36 for adults and seniors and $23.50 for children ages 3-12.
