Palm Springs Councilman Chris Mills got a good laugh Sunday over rumors that he’s vacating his City Council seat.
The rumor is making its way around Palm Springs. And a post on a Facebook page dedicated to Palm Springs politics suggested Mills wouldn’t take his newly re-claimed council seat due to “medical issues in the family.”
“I have no idea where it came from and there’s certainly no truth it,” Mills said with a chuckle, telling The Desert Sun on Sunday that he heard the false gossip as well.
“I’m looking forward to serving another four years.”
Mills and fellow Councilwoman Ginny Foat both secured their re-election bids in November, each garnering more than 5,200 votes.
Mills, an architect who’s practiced in the city since 1977, has been on the council since 2001. He’s the only Republican on the council.
