ballot box for nov 13 updateAccording to the Riverside County Registrar of Voters, the number of signatures collected can cover all or a portion of the filing fees.

Judicial candidates have until Feb. 5 to file their signatures. Other contenders for state and county offices have until Feb. 20.

The petition in lieu of filing fee doesn’t apply to candidates for Riverside County Board of Education, because they don’t pay filing fees.

The official candidate nomination period for the June 3 election — also known as the paper pulling period — runs Feb. 10 through March 7.
