All active duty, Reserve, and retired military and their dependents will be treated to free grounds admission throughout the week during the Humana Challenge golf tournament, organizers announced Wednesday.
The tournament, which runs Jan. 13 – 19, will feature the Humana Military Outpost, a hospitality pavilion located between the first tee and ninth green at the Arnold Palmer Private Course at PGA West in La Quinta.
To obtain tickets, visit HumanaChallenge.com/tickets and enter promo code “Military” (within the ‘Humana Challenge Daily Tickets’ section) to receive the special Military Daily Grounds ticket.
Military members must show valid military ID at the gate to gain admittance.
“We are proud to host members of our country’s military at the Humana Military Outpost as our guests for the third consecutive year,” Humana Challenge Executive Director and CEO Bob Marra said. ”They deserve the opportunity to have a fun and relaxing time while watching many of the world’s best golfers. The Humana Military Outpost is another example of how we are carrying on the legacy of Bob Hope. His passion for this golf tournament and unwavering commitment to entertaining the troops was legendary.”
The Humana Military Outpost is one element of the Humana Challenge’s sustained appreciation for the United States military and is a focal point for activities when the Humana Challenge celebrates Humana Military Appreciation Day on Saturday, Jan. 18, Marra said.
The 2014 Humana Challenge, the Coachella Valley’s annual PGA TOUR event, is a 72-hole event and features 156 professionals playing at the Arnold Palmer and Nicklaus Private Courses at PGA WEST and La Quinta Country Club. The tournament will award the Bob Hope Memorial Trophy to its winner.
