Jr. ROTC units from high schools in and around the Coachella Valley will participate in the annual Coachella Valley Jr. ROTC Drill Meet beginning at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 25 at Desert Hot Springs High School, 65850 Pierson Boulevard,Desert Hot Springs.
Close to 300 cadets will compete in team events including Color Guard, drill, and physical fitness. The competition will be judged by 12 Jr. ROTC instructors and 15 military service members.
The event, which runs throughout the day, culminates with an awards presentation in the main gym at 4 p.m.
Desert Hot Springs, La Quinta, Cathedral City and Palm Springs high school Jr. ROTC units will be participating.

The Jr. ROTC cadets from Desert Hot Springs High School, competing against 12 schools, took nine of 12 awards at the Ramona High School Color Guard Meet on Saturday, Jan. 18 at Ramona High School in Riverside.
The Color Guard Commander, Cadet 1st Lt. Martin Moreno, won the overall Commanders Cup.
