Southern California Edison crews will shut off electricity in a portion of a Palm Springs housing development Friday night while they finish repairs related to a larger outage on Tuesday.
Sixty units at Sunrise Villas will lose electricity from about 9 to 11 p.m., Edison spokeswoman Nena McCollough said Friday night.
Workers, who have been at the scene since Tuesday afternoon, are expected to finish repairs Saturday morning.
About 1,300 Edison customers lost electricity Tuesday, but several homes in Sunrise Villas didn’t have their power restored until late Wednesday.
Shortly after the outage occurred, fires were sparked inside four homes inside the complex.
The cause of the  outage is still under investigation, McCollough said.
