What’s in season in February in Southern California

It’s been an odd winter, with temperatures fluctuating up and down. One week, it’s 85 degrees and we’re craving summer desserts. The next week, we’re all bundled up slurping warm soups.

And the produce that’s available during February resembles the roller-coaster weather patterns of recent. There are winter sturdy winter staples like leafy greens, Brussels sprouts and asparagus.

But, there are also sweet summertime reflections in strawberries. And although, citrus is predominantly a winter fruit, it’s sweet taste can conjure up memories of warm beaches and summertime fun.

Here’s what’s in season for the month of February:
